Goats

Superintendent:  Linda Weeks

 

 

1.      ADGA Dairy Goat Showmanship Score Card (CO544) will be the guide for Dairy Goat Fitting and Showing.

2.      All dairy does in milk must be milked completely after 6 PM the night before the does are to be exhibited for Type.  The superintendent of the Goat show has sole authority and responsibility to certify that each animal has been milked.

3.      All goats must be available for use in the judging contest.

4.      Cashmere goats must have their most recent clip in the ring when exhibited for Type.

5.      No horns allowed.

6.      No Bucks of any age will be exhibited or allowed on the fairgrounds.

7.      Exhibitors may enter only two goats in a class (limit 2 market wethers).

8.      Goat Fitting and Showing:  Exhibitors must wear white shirts with white or black pants.

9.      Exhibitor must pay entry fee for all animals brought in (this includes babies that are still on does and are not being shown in a class.

10.  Only primary will be allowed to enter wethers.  All other Wethers must be a market animal and sold in a market class or entered in the Companion Goats division.
 
 

Class A:  All Dairy including cross breeds

Class B:   Boer

Class C:  Cashmere

Class D:  Pygmy

Jr. Does

1.    Kids born May 1 to show date
2.    Kid born March to April current year

3.    Kid born January to February current year

4.    Doe kid born December 2005 to August 1 2006

5.    Doe kid one year and under two never freshened

 

 

One Champion and one Reserve Champion will be selected from the top two animals in Lots 1-5 per breed, provided the quality of the animal merits the award.

 

Sr. Does

6.    Does, 1 year and under 2 years (have kidded)
7.    Does, 2 years and under 3 years (have kidded)

8.    Does, 3 years and under 4 years (have kidded)

9.    Does, 5 years and older (have kidded)

 

One Champion and one Reserve Champion will be selected from the top two animals in Lots 6-9 per breed, provided the quality of the animal merits the award.

One grand Champion and one Reserve Grand Champion will be selected from the designated Champions and Reserve Champions, provided the quality of the animal merits the award.
 
 BEST DOE IN SHOW will be chosen from the Grand Champions of all breeds.

 

Class K:
            Lot #: (Market Animals)

1.  Market Wethers, born after Nov. 1st of previous year (55 - 130 pounds)


One Champion and one Reserve Champion will be selected from the top two animals in each class, provided the quality of the animal merits the award.

One Grand Champion and one Reserve Grand Champion will be selected from the designated Champions and Reserve Champions, provided the quality of the animal merits the award.
